Encouraged By Ministry Partner in Italy

I was speaking to a friend of mine and Ministry partner, who is in Italy about 45 minutes west of Milan. He was sharing a story of an intern that they have who has a huge burden for lost people. This intern goes to Milan on his days off to share the Gospel. He has shared the gospel with over 300 people and counting. Just recently he took the other intern with him, and when they got off the train in Milan, she asked him, “OK, now, what do we do? “He looked around and noticed a man who got off the train, but didn’t get on the next train, and said, “I think we are supposed to talk to that man.” They went up to the man and he asked him if he spoke English and the man said yes. He then proceeded to tell the man that God the Father Loves him and has been pursuing him, and that Jesus is the manifestation of that. He then spent two hours with the man and the man surrendered his life to Jesus right there on the train platform. The point of all of this is that this kind of evangelism is often frowned upon in post-Christian and dechurched context. Once again, we are reminded that while cultural sensitivity in awareness is helpful, we must always remain humble and never outsmart the gospel. “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation.”
